Have you ever wanted more out of your web site measurement application, or just to explain the value of your company’s web site to managers and executives in a clear and quantitative format? In my position at a higher education institution I always have had a need to better understand and explain the value of web site measurement for improving and monitoring the online experience for our constituencies. That is where Web Site Measurement Hacks has become an invaluable resource for me.
Web Site Measurement Hacks does a great job of explaining to you the roles web site measurement can play in your organization. The author does this in a well organized and common sense way. The first two chapters start out
explaining the words, phrases and technical configurations commonly used in web site measurement. Chapters three through six focus on the domains of measurement (general, usability, technographics and demographics, and online retail). Throughout the book, the author does a great job of giving real world examples both in code and sample reports. One example of particular interest to me was his RSS tracking application and the techniques used to capture activity from the RSS feed. The final chapter focuses on KPI’s (key performance indicators) and their usefulness for executives and other managers in your business.
After reading Web Site Measurement Hacks I feel more comfortable explaining and aiding the development of common effectiveness measurements for my organization. I believe Web Site Measurement Hacks to be an indispensable reference for IT workers, marketers and any manager interested in explaining how effective their web site is and can be.

Didn’t read this article, but the site is very web 2.0 in style, clear, and almost relaxing to read due to font choice, whitespace, and awesome photos.
